Here's the problem with cutting a trailer for a movie like Buried. The Rodrigo Cortes thriller is about Ryan Reynolds buried alive in a box. The whole movie is in a box. It is, by all accounts - I haven't seen it yet - very, very good but still ... it's in a box. Not a lot of dynamic images to work into a big flash-bang trailer when you have to spend the entire film in a box. So they've consistently gone the other way with the promo materials for this one, not trying to overwhelm but trying to quickly and efficiently convey the sense of claustrophobia that is at the center of the film. And the brand new Lions Gate trailer cut for the film's US release does exactly that.

While the prospect of a film that features Ryan Reynolds being buried alive is enticing, the fact that you'd have to spend the entire movie in a box with Ryan Reynolds is unbearable.
I think the worry is how they plan on making a feature film out of Ryan Reynolds being stuck in a box for 90+ minutes. It's a shame that these worries haven't been fixed with the trailer. We know it's a good set-up, but what about the content? How are they going to handle it?
