What a glorious Monday this is for trailers. I'll keep it at a minimum because I do not want to keep you from the epicness of this epic trailer. It just gets better and better.

I am naming my first born after Edgar. Regardless the gender. My daughter will come to love her name. Oh yes. She will.

Check it below!

Certainly, this is a better trailer than the first one. And the action, special effects and sound editing are beyond compare. But like the first trailer, the dialogue leaves a lot to be desired. I fear the whole movie might be like that; not that that would make it terrible. It would just be disappointing. But dialogue that works on the printed page does not necessarily work on screen.

I think it looks very faithful, hard to judge dialogue from such small out of context snippets but I'm biased, love the comics, love wright's previous works, please don't disappoint!!

Much better than the first trailer. I'm starting to buy Michael Cera in that role. I'm really getting a No More Heroes vibe from this film, which is awesome.

I know nothing about the source material, but as a film standing on it's own --

Yeuck. This looks really terrible and so tacky.

I find it hard to believe this will be a hit.

the dialogue are direct quotes for the most part from the comic itself. its pretty true to the story. Its not tacky nor is it any type of typical hollywood crap either.

It might work as a comic -- but FROM THIS TRAILER - I'm sorry, it looks like cheesy, dire, self-indulgent videogame crap. One for the fans I guess?

Better than the last trailer (ew!) but there's still nothing in it that makes me not hate the casting of Michael Cera. Which is sad because so much of the other casting is spot on.

And yeah, the dialogue is pretty awful.

"the dialogue are direct quotes for the most part from the comic itself."

Which goes to show that what works as a word balloon in a comic doesn't neccesarily work coming from the mouths of flesh and blood actors (see also: Sin City; 300).

jackanory....of course it's one for the fans. a movie isn't made from a comic book unless said comic book had FANS. same thing with regular books. welcome to how the world works.

Okay... uh, first, I would imagine most comic books have a 'certain amount of fans...'
Perhaps I should have clearly said - will this extend beyond the intitial fan base? Is there actually a huge fan base for this?
In regards to the real world, again, a comic is one thing, spending X amount of money of a movie like this is a something else; anyone know what the budget is for this film?
Personally it just looks childish, too silly on film from the trailer so far - a total car wreck of live action manga, poor comedy and just pure cornball humour that has been done to death.
No thanks.

here are my thoughts on it.

-yes it does have a pretty large fanbase.
-its not as cliche'd as you think it is, its a forerunner in a whole new i guess call it post manga kinda world. its got alot of video game/geek references in a way that havent been used in movies or comics.
-the camp of this is the fun part...it doesnt take itself serious like all spandex movies. and for a genre like comic movies to survive it cants be all about the superheroes. you gotta have some of the other stuff.
-alot of my non scott pilgrim fan friends are very excited for the film, so its clear this movie is gonna do some damage. your piquing the interests of alot of different types of people, comic, video game, manga, ect...its not just the fanbase that will want to see this.
-personally i dont think childish is a bad thing..it makes it fun. it has to..because so much of the comic really isnt even about the fighting its about the actual interactions with the people around scotts life. and no ones gonna wanna watch a movie about that sadly enough.

edgar wright might be lost now that his shaun of the dead duo have moved onto other things. i think they should get back and make another horror. probably wont, actors egos being what they are...but this trailer...just feels la bit too much like my favourite word of the month....

....'lite'
