Whatever happen to Won Shin-Yeon's Robot Taekwon V (로보트 태권브이)? Its a question that crossed my mind several times before during the past year. The big budget live-action feature film was originally slated for release in 2009, yet there hasn't been any word on its status ever since we last seen some CGI test videos back in 2008 and its already 2010. Thankfully, the project is still on the table as evident by the recently launched official site. While the site is very basic, it does contain a cool artwork of Korea's favorite Taekwondo-kicking giant robot, fighting an enemy robot in the Han River with the release date clearly stated at 2011. Too bad we got to wait another full year again but as the saying goes, its better late than never. More details as we get' em.

Oh mammamia, thank you very much for the article! I'm waiting since February 2008 for this movie and now it finally begins. Hopefully some news on the casting will appear soon and of course more stills and news.
This will be the biggest Korean film in years and I hope director Won Shin-yeon shows that Korea can still produce big mega blockbusters - aside from many disappointing movies we saw in the last years.
By the way, his thriller "Seven Days" kicked the shit out of me, I was furious after I saw it, one of my favorites. If he is able to combine the class of his previous film with the best effects from the biggest Korean VFX companies ( DTI, EON, Insight Visual, Mofac, etc)... oh golly.
I also think he will get his dream team back: Cinematographer Choi Young-hwan, Editor Shin Min-kyung and composer Kim Jin-seong. Just do it man!
We have been waiting long for the coming out , Fortunately we have the patience to wait fot something we like. There is beautiful photos in the galleries. I printed it and pinned it tio my room.
