I will confess that when I first saw the promo for Guillem Morales' Julia's Eyes in Berlin I was not particularly impressed. Yes, the production values were fine but the execution at that point seemed a bit by the numbers and the story - which revolves around a woman investigating the supposed suicide of her blind sister as her own vision fails - seemed to lift a bit from the Pang Brothers offering The Eye. Well, the thing about promo reels is that they're often put together quickly with unfinished footage and are not always the best things to judge by.
Enter the first proper teaser for the picture, which features Guillermo Del Toro as a producer. Now this is more like it. Atmospheric and haunting, this does exactly what a teaser should do: It sets the tone without feeding you the entire story. Check it below.
