Hopefully our man in New York Ben Umstead will find time in his busy schedule to go see this Brit thriller playing at Tribeca. Todd saw it at TIFF and made an outrageous claim that The Disappearance of Alice Creed director J Blakeson might very well be the next Danny Boyle. Huge acclaim from our lord and master on that one. James Dennis is also quite fond of it too. Soon it will be on our side of pone once again for a theatrical run and that means a newly cut trailer for our western eyes. Huzzah!
On a suburban street, two masked men seize a young woman. They bind and gag her and take her to an abandoned, soundproofed apartment. She is Alice Creed, daughter of a millionaire. Her kidnappers, the coldly efficient Vic and his younger accomplice Danny, have worked out a meticulous plan. But Alice is not going to play the perfect victim - he's not giving in without a fight. If anyone reads this before watching the trailer... do not watch it! It really spoils the mood and narrative of the film. A huge part of the pleasure and tension Blakeson concocts here is the way he lays it all out, and that trailer feels like a blender-ized version. Yes, I've already seen it dear, Mack. Todd is not far off from his assessment. More on Monday, kiddies!

I would like to echo Mr Bumstead and say PLEASE DON'T WATCH THE TRAILER.
Read a one-line synopsis or if you can track down the TIFF description that refences Reservoir Dogs, but DO NOT WATCH THE TRAILER.
See the movie. Love it. Take my word for it (or, since his word might actually mean something, take Todd Brown's word for it) and just see the movie.
I saw it at TIFF and loved it, and the BEST way to experience it is to know as little as you can about it.
Talking with Blakeson on Saturday he did say "August" for NA, so it should be August 6th limited , unless Anchor Bay changes their minds.
