Agreed. This film is waaaay more fun that it has any right to be! I look forward to see if the Shiny Glow I had after watching it holds up on a second viewing.
Chloe Moretz is going to be huuuuge with fans after this is released. Knowing she is cast as the vampire in the US remake of LET THE RIGHT ONE IN (and the boy is the kid from THE ROAD) gives me some very tangible hope that it will be good, if not better than good.
Saw this last night and agree she's the dog's. But what really hooked me was how unexpectedly moving parts of it were - far more than any 'real' superhero movie.
Well the movie is based around the idea of what would happen if someone decided to be a superhero in the real world. This is the 'real' superhero movie.
I should clarify by 'real' I mean 'proper' in terms of common perceptions of what conventional super hero movies (Superman, Spiderman) are about, and the media's take on this as an 'anti-superhero' movie - cynical, ironic, post modern etc.
Chloe Moretz is the new Dakota Fanning, which is ironic considering Fanning still isn't out of adolescence yet...
Looks like this one is going to be a lot of fun.
Any time you can turn a genre on its ear, is a good thing!!
Just watched Defendor and for a serious stab at the super hero genre, it wasn't bad. Not great, but not bad. Canadian films are starting to find their feet. Just need to develop the writing base more.

Now that the Razzie Awards for the worst films of the year have devolved into cheap shots at easy targets, perhaps it's time for their foreign equivalents to carry on the torch. Consider France's Gérard Awards, which, at the very least, have a lot more fun with the titles of their prizes. They also manage to put a few awards-darlings...

Review: NORWEGIAN WOOD Is Beautiful But Not Flawless
:
Apparently there is a Japanese version of the film that is 15 minutes longer.
