by Al Young, March 22, 2010 3:17 AM

With the Hong Kong Filmart just around the corner, Emperor Motion Pictures has prepared a 2-minute trailer to Benny Chan's Shaolin for the event. The all-star cast include Andy Lau, Nicholas Tse, Wu Jing, Fan Bingbing, Xing Yu, Yu Hai and Jackie Chan in a special appearance while Cory Yuen served as the action director.
China is plunged into strife as feuding warlords try to expand their power by warring over neighboring lands. Fuelled by his success on the battlefield, young and arrogant Hao Jie sneers at Shaolin's masters when he beats one of them in a duel. But the pride comes before a fall. When his own family is wiped out by a rival warlord, Hao is forced to take refuge with the monks. As the civil unrest spreads and the people suffer, Hao and the Shaolin masters are forced to take a fiery stand against the evil warlords. They launch a daring plan or rescue and escape.

Man, Jackie is looking old lately!!

Thank God. He spend way too long running away from the simple fact that he is not getting any younger. GORGEOUS might be a low point of sorts in that respect. The older Chan allows himself to appear on screen, the more interesting his performances are becoming.

I also want to know who this director is and what he's done with the real Benny Chan. This actually looks like a film worth watching. More power to both of 'em.

So this is Benny Chan´s answer to Wilson Yips Ip Man.....well i dont mind that....it is just all too obvious. Anyway, its nice to see another movie with old school kung´fu fighting scenes. I really miss all that Yuen Brothers stuff.....

Great cast.
Doesn't look so Martial Arts packed, so its rather a drama about hostility against minorities?

I doubt that...if u look on Chen´s filmography, u will find that he is very action-oriented director....so i would say this is gonna be another action flick. Maybe bit of dramatic, historic oriented moments (same as Ip Man), but...
