Everyone knows that hi-def transfers of older films can reveal a lot of flaws, film grain etc. But what's curious here is that Warner has put together the nice book type packaging making the outside of this thing look stellar while basically leaving the inside alone. I'm not saying I'd prefer the DVD to this but it comes close. there is a huge amount of film grain here and while some of the dirt and the reel change marks have been cleaned up this is still a pretty dirty print. Anybody expecting a considerable visiual upgradedue to that nice shiny outer packaging is going to feel a little sold out. This ports over the extras from the ancient DVD release.
