I've been dying to see Nicholas Winding Refn's Valhalla Rising ever since it was announced but have yet gotten an opportunity to see it. Todd Really liked it, James Dennis as well. Eight Rooks not so much though.
The only thing I've seen from it is the trailer but today Polish website Opium released a clip from it and I don't know, since I haven't seen it, if it's an actual scene or a collection of shots, some of it is coherent and some of it isn't. But it's been said that the film is highly experimental and trippy so that might actually be a scene from the film, what it means I have no idea but it looks incredible.

Even after all this time - like One-Eye - I'm straining at the leash to see Valhalla Rising. The fact it is getting polarizing reviews only makes me want to see it more.
I need to see Refn working outside his comfort zone... though this film has the requisite grime that he brings to the Pusher trilogy and Bleeder. Segments of this sequence, the red filters, make me think of Turturro's nightmarish hotel experience in Fear X.
Have no fears, Valhalla Rising is 10 kinds of Awesome. And I mean that it the most literal sense of the word.
Anyone found word on a dvd release yet? I've scavenged a few times and came up with nothing. Trailer was awesome and so was the clip.
Oh next month really. Good news for me then since it's bound to play at Cineworld and/or the Glasgow Film Theater!
This wasn't received too fondly in Rotterdam, where the movie surprisingly ended up in the lower regions of the audience ratings with a 3.3 out of 5.
I really want to see, screw the audiences. Most peple have awful taste in anything anyway.
