I must confess that I was a little let down by Marshall's Doomsday after the genius that was The Descent. Something about the film just didn't quite work for me.
His follow up is another hack and slash action film, Centurion, this time taking place in the past where an army of Roman soldiers who are in the process of invading Britain wander in to Scotland and promptly get their asses handed to them, literally.
A few select people out there in the UK have seen it, Paul Mcevoy of Fright Fest said it was "Brutal and Brilliant!" on his facebook page a few weeks ago. The trailer for it has just hit the web and the thing looks damn impressive. Blood galore and select cuts of human meat.
This will probably be one of the manliest films of this year. Check it out below.

Well as far as Roman-centric adventure flicks go that look mighty impressive.
I actually think this looks much more promising than the recent Robin Hood trailers. Neil Marshall really likes putting the money on the screen and I respect the hell outta that.
Brutal! Reminds me of Slaine, maybe Marshall should think about it?
yes, that's really looking good. and I agree that the robin trailer is mighty underwhelming.
It's hard to stay focused when you're being attacked by tribal top-models in face paint.
Couldn't ask for a better cast or Director. This has a chance to be great. Promising stuff in the trailer, but I would like to see a Red Band trailer. Then we'll know.
This looks sweet.
And Marshall owes us a good movie after DOOMSDAY.
so between the stock shots of landscapes, the digital arrows being fired into the lens, the feral warriors that look like they have been transplanted from doomsday and clothed in animal pelt and the nonsense shouting about 'honor' and various other crap, there is a film is there right...? meh.
It looks like Doomsday in the middleage.
The story seems to be rather simple too.
Could be a fun ride.
Hrm.
Isn't that whistling sound a result of the feathers being lose on the arrow?
No Ulrich Thomsen in the trailer? I thought he was the main baddie.
I dunno, looks kinda 'meh'. I'll probably end up seeing it, when it vomes out on dvd though. Could be fun to watch with some mates.
