"I Don't Want To Understand Him. I Just Want To Kill Him."

The greatest thing about the trailer for Malaysian slasher-horror Killer Clown is how incredibly straight faced it is.  I certainly wasn't while watching it.  Everything about writer-producer-director-star Julian Cheah's vanity project just screams cult hit, but for all the wrong reasons. By the time the clown starts blasting away with a high powered machine gun this thing has long since descended into utter madness. That it's shot in incredibly stilted English only adds to the lunacy.  Check the trailer below.

Wow, is this the next Birdemic already?

user-pic

Maybe, but Birdemic is that way on purpose. I really don't think this one is ... which, to me, makes it much, much funnier.

BIRDEMIC is on purpose? are you serious?

This whole trailer just screams 1982...

Don't you love how the narrator says "Julain Cheah" like it's supposed to mean something or carry weight?

Anyway, more from Julian Cheah:

I looked him up and as near as I can see the only films he's ever starred in are ones from his own production company which he's also directed, written, edited, etc. Other than his own films his only credits seem to be tiny bit parts ...

That is actually kinda cool.
Imagine Uwe Boll starring in all his own movies!

The poster shouts (bad) heroic bloodshed c. 1991 to me. The trailer not so much. "Not all clowns are friendly". Errrrr...

Maybe the VO guy is Julian Cheaaaaaahh too? I bet he plays the clown as well come to think of it.
