[Bumpity bump.  Trailer now included within the post.]

It's got robot killers, robot snakes, robot robots, flying cars and Andy Lau falling on his face.  It looks absolutely atrocious in all the right ways.  It's Wong Jing's Future X-Cops.  And it's got a new trailer.

That does look like the greatest movie ever made.

Hmm wonder if there'll be a lot of bootleg copies of THIS movie in the Chinese market?

Considering a lot of government money must have gone into the making of this film....

How does Wong Jing keep getting money to make films? I hope this finally puts him in the poor house. All he needs to do is digitally color those silver suits and he has a Power Rangers movie on his hands.

What do you mean Power Rangers, if they color Lau's suit blue, they'd have a Mega Man movie!

Guess Andy had bills to pay.

The guy is one of the most well known stars in Hong Kong cinema, has released a bunch of records and i think he was even selling his face on toilet paper. He must be lighting cigars with big rolls of money right now.

But then, that's how things are done there. Your average well-known HK actor does like 6 movies per year.

As I understand it, Lau owed a crapload of money in the 80s and 90s, meaning he had to take on as many roles and jobs as he could to pay back his debts. He's clear now, so he can be more discriminating about which projects he gets involved in.

One can only hope this film will continue the original film's tradition and feature a stirring discussion about an AIDS epidemic while characters romance inside a Nintendo. (Maybe a Wii this time?)

I saw only amateur 3D (like in Spy Kids), rotating bullet (from Wanted, Bekmambetov-style) and few guys from hk movies...
Where the said martial arts?
Or it's just another kids movie?

And the action sequences still look clearer than anything Michael Bay does ...

I agree with John - the action is sooo much more coherent than Transformers 2. Typical Wong Jing movie though - he is shameless when it comes to ripping ideas from popular movies.

Andy Lau is immortal - he hasn't aged physically since A Moment of Romance - he does movies like this to stop getting bored.

who doesn't want an arm cannon that sprouts snakes?

They were filming this in Beijing last year when we were wrapping up on "True Legend'

I dont think the trailer really shows some of the best action they were shooting

Ching Siu-tong was handling the fight and stunt choreography for the film, and amonsgt the assembled bad guys are Louis Fan (Fan Siu-wong) from 'Ip man' and of course 'Story of Ricky' and American martial arts actor/stuntman Ian Powers from "Treasure Hunt' & "Contract Lover', as a cyberneticly enhanced mantis fighter complete with metalic Mantis claws
