Teaser for Germany's CG Animated film DIE KONFERENZ DER TIERE

by Al Young, January 11, 2010 12:01 PM

Constantin Film has unveiled the teaser trailer to Die Konferenz der Tiere (translated as "The Animal's Conference"), an upcoming CG animated film co-directed by Reinhard Klooss & Holger Tappe (Impy's Wonderland, Impy's Island) and produced by Ambient Entertainment. Its based on a 1949 children book by Erich Kästner that tells the story about the animals from all over the world banding together to persuade mankind to live in peace and united harmony. There is already an animated film adapted from the book back in 1969. Judging from the trailer, I'm not sure what to expect. Is it a serious drama or a silly comedy?

Coming in 2010. You'll find the teaser embedded below.

I only watched the trailer so I could abuse it properly - but then they had to go and throw a downright gorgeous CGI New York in my face.

I don't speak German, but I'm pretty sure they said "in 3D" towards the end there.

My expectations are low (that last bit, as seen in the still at the top of this page, seems to be as toxic as the rest of it was beautiful) but they certainly have my attention.

OMFG, please fucking no.

I mean, the settings actually look quiet well indeed but the character design seems straight dumb to the button and I am pretty sure the movie will be more like the last three seconds than the rest of the trailer.

As a German I am ashamed. Again.

And yeah, it says »in 3D« in the end.
