I've only been to Fantastic Fest twice now and already I feel that this is a festival that I need to be at every year. Now I haven't experienced many festivals, the only other that I've been to are the local fests over here and the ginormous Toronto International Film Festival. But I can confidently say that FF is one of the best out there, one that offers you incredibly friendly and personal atmosphere along with brilliant venues and genius parties. This is the only film festival I know of where filmmakers come to even though they don't have movies playing, they just want to hang out and shoot the shit while enjoying great flicks.
Submissions are now open for FF 2010 and I urge every filmmaker who has made a feature, documentary or short that fits in to their criteria to apply. It's well worth it.
