Teddy Chen's Bodyguards And Assassins has been inspiring lust in martial arts fans for nearly a year now and with the film a huge hit on theatrical release throughout Hong Kong and China the time has come for the rest of us to get our shot. The DVD (Region 3) and BluRay (Region A) release comes February 8th. For those unfamiliar with region coding, the DVD release will require the use of special equipment outside of Asia but the BluRay will play just fine on North American equipment. Both versions are English friendly.
In slightly less exciting, but still noteworthy news, Jay Chou action-adventure The Treasure Hunters (on DVD only) and Jingle Ma's historical epic Mulan (DVD and BluRay) are both dropping at roughly the same time.

While there is some fine martial arts on display here, don't set your hopes too high. I found the film a bit melodramatic and unsatisfying. And I got to see it in the cinema.
