I'm putting this up for the simple reason that I liked the first two. 'The Third' left a bad, bad taste in my mouth and I hope the team behind the fourth, and final[?], Shrek film, Shrek Forever After, can find a return to form. Does it matter if they do though? These films are guaranteed box office for Dreamworks and the promise of delivering the fourth in 3D will put bums in seats. I digress. Find the trailer after the break.
After challenging an evil dragon, rescuing a beautiful princess and saving your in-laws' kingdom, whats an ogre to do? Well, if you're Shrek, you suddenly wind up a domesticated family man. Instead of scaring villagers away like he used to, a reluctant Shrek now agrees to autograph pitch forks. Whats happened to this ogre's roar? Longing for the days when he felt like a "real ogre," Shrek is duped into signing a pact with the smooth-talking dealmaker, Rumpelstiltskin. Shrek suddenly finds himself in a twisted, alternate version of Far Far Away, where ogres are hunted, Rumpelstiltskin is king and Shrek and Fiona have never met. Now, it's up to Shrek to undo all he's done in the hopes of saving his friends, restoring his world and reclaiming his one True Love. IMDB

Sadly, the only way this will truly be "final" is if people avoid it in droves, theatrically and at home. For what it's worth, I plan on doing my part to help - but I don't think my ongoing meager efforts will really matter. I certainly didn't have any luck stopping parts 2 or 3.
