HitGirl.jpgIf the first trailer for Kick-Ass didn't get your attention, this smoking new red-band trailer from IGN featuring the Hit Girl character should quickly change your mind. It's age-restricted, but jumping through this simple hoop is worth your time (at least until a version without an age gate appears).

Oh, lord ... that's wrong in so many ways it's just brilliant ...

Looks like someone besides Quentin Tarantino is taking lessons from the Japanese! Don't know if the movie will be any good, but that scene was pretty fun!

Hated Wanted and I may not see this because I absolutely loathed the Wanted graphic novel, so based on how bad I thought that was the idea of more Mark Millar IPs hitting the big screen actively repulses me.

That said, that trailer's still rather nifty. Is that... mostly wire work? CG? A very small stunt double? Or did Chloe Moretz actually go through a hell of a lot of very intensive physical training? Hard to tell from a bunch of quick clips but on a purely visual level I'm fairly impressed.

Chloe Mintz was trained by the same guy who trained *cue Team America voice* Matt Daaaaaaamon for the BOURNE series. She apparently went through the exact same regimen as well.

Rooks, KICK ASS and WANTED are wildly different, only sharing the post-irony thing to a small degree. I think you might be missing out should you disregard KICK ASS due to your distaste of WANTED, which by the way, you cannot compare the film to the comic mini-series. They are almost completely different entities unto themselves, the story and characters having been changed so drastically from the source material.
The only problem I've ever had with Millar's writing is his homophobia, which tends to pop up in almost all his books.

I take your point re: Wanted, Sean, though I saw the film first - hated it - and read all the 'oh God, it's nothing like the comics!' reactions so I thought I ought to give the original a chance. I hated it even more. It's pretty rare I feel actively disgusted by the tone or worldview of any book, film, whatever, but somehow both Millar and the filmmakers managed this pretty efficiently.

On the other hand, cheers for the information. Even more impressive for sure, and it makes me all the more interested to see how Chloe Moretz does in Let Me In, seeing how for a 12-year-old she seems to be reasonably comfortable with very dark material.
