As shocked as I was originally that Disney had green lit a sequel to classic scifi picture Tron I have been even more shocked at every stage by just how damn good everything they have released so far has looked. I had the chance to see the Comic-Con test trailer projected in 3D a little while back and it was absolutely fantastic, as were the pieces of Daft Punk's score for the film that were played for the audience. And though the film's release is still a solid year away now what may be the first finished image from the picture yet released - the test footage doesn't count, really, as it won't look like that if / when included in the completed picture - has arrived. It's fabulously dark and grim stuff and confirms, once again, that they're not aiming for a goofy nostalgia trip here but, rather, something that stands alone on its own right and takes itself very seriously.
