David Cross and Will Arnett back together again? Is it the second coming of Arrested Development? No, this is something even better ...
If you'll recall, back at the beginning of November I posted something about a comedy pilot titled Campus, a new project from the creators of Green Wing commissioned and aired by the UK's Channel 4 as part of their new Comedy Showcase series. The premise is pretty simple: They green lit a series of promising pilots and rather than making their decisions behind closed doors they showed them to the public and let public feedback determine whether or not the shows get picked up for full series. And this latest from Cross and Arnett is part of the same series.
Titled The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret the show features Arnett as a clueless but aggressive American businessman who has just bought a UK company and decided - for no particular reason - to shift their entire focus into selling energy drinks in London, a task for which he promotes hapless temp Todd Margaret (that'd be Cross) to oversee despite his total lack of experience or qualification. So what you have here is a case of the aggressive foreigner and the hapless foreigner bumbling about in a strange land. And because this was commissioned for UK TV, where the rules are a bit different, they swear a lot. Check a clip below!

I won't say how I saw this, and I doubt there's any real mystery to it anyway. However, I did see this, and it's awesome. If this doesn't get picked up as a series, then shame on Channel 4 viewers.
It looks like a lot of fun. Hopefully this doesn't slow down the production of the AD movie. I doubt it would.
And what a great way to choose a show. I don't understand why every channel doesn't do that.

That's pretty awesome. I like how the next generation of filmmaking/tv production is involving the audience somewhat. Mystery Team and Paranormal Activity got the audience to participate by enlisting them to demand screenings in their respective cities.
We're working on a film project that will be totally interactive with the audience. Members can see every detail of the feature film as it's being created, and they'll even have the opportunity to discuss and weigh in on key production decisions. We're trying to knock down the closed doors that are usually blocking the audience's participation and have a very transparent production as the film is being made.
