[Updated with fresh details.]

Dante Lam is a busy man.  We recently wrote about his upcoming Fire of Conscience and with that film now through principal photography and into post production Lam is already moving along to his next film.

Emperor Motion Pictures will hold a 'Cranking Up Ceremony' tomorrow - November 2nd - to officially mark the beginning of work on Stool Pigeon, a film that will reunite Lam with his Beast Stalker stars Nick Cheung and Nicholas Tse.  They're saying virtually nothing about this one right now other than that it's a triad crime picture but with a title like that it isn't hard to picture where they're going with it.

*UPDATE*

Despite the cranking up ceremony earlier today, information is still scarce but here's what the producers are saying about the film:

The Stool Pigeon will see role reversals for Cheung and Tse who played a ruthless hitman and a dedicated cop, respectively, in The Beast Stalker. Cheung is the cop this time with Tse taking on the role of an ex-con turned police informant who tries to infiltrate the triads. Also returning from The Beast Stalker is Miao Pu, who will play Cheung's wife again, and veteran thespian Liu Kai-chi.

I still haven't had a chance to watch Beast Stalker, fond as I am of Nick Cheung. Waiting for the dvd price to drop to something much more affordable.

I read something in the Chinese newspaper a couple of days ago that the tentative Chinese title is "Line People" which literally means Informant which makes sense because the direct Chinese title for Beast Stalker is "Witness"

Cheung is awesome in Beast Stalker, it's well worth the cost. Only $12.99 on DVD at Yesasia right now ... BluRay for under 20.

That's still rather pricey for a HK release, especially if you factor in the shipping. I'll probably wait for a sale somewhere or for the price to go down after 6 months.

I'm not sure what the free shipping threshold is for the UK with YesAsia, but in Canada its $35, which isn't bad. And they have shipping centers in Canada, US, and the UK so you don't ever get dinged for customs. Their list prices are a little higher than a lot of other online retailers but the overall cost ends up being less.
