A decidedly mundane suburban Britain plays host to the grim events recorded on 'Exhibit A' - a camcorder wielded by a young girl as her family falls apart under financial pressure. The concept of launching a film's narrative from purportedly 'found' footage is a well used device, but this Brit chiller puts a new and apparently intriguing spin on matters. A micro-budget feature produced by Warp Films (Dead Man's Shoes, This Is England) and Bigger Pictures, it passed me by whilst on its festival run but has now re-surfaced on DVD with Best UK Feature at Sundance and a couple of nominations at the British Independent Film Awards behind it. The trailer looks like a twisted hybrid of Steven Sheil's repulsive - that's a compliment - kitchen sink horror Mum & Dad and The Blair Witch Project.
