On November 3rd, 1954 Ishiro Honda's Gojira - now known around the globe by his westernized name of Godzilla - first stomped across screens laying waste to all around him. Fifty five years and more than thirty film appearances later - to say nothing of the countless spin offs, cartoons, merchandising and knock-off kaiju monsters he inspired - the cult is still going strong. Happy birthday, big guy.
