Now that the casting issue has been resolved and filming has been completed, the promotion is starting to kick into full gear across China with the first look at the trailer. Here's the synopsis:

a dance film that looks worth seeing, amazing. it sure looks spectacularly well made.
Dear God, I believe I just got served.
Looks alright for this sort of thing. Screen Gems could get a couple of solid if unspectacular weekends out of it if they wanted to.
Great, another Kung Fu Hip Hop...Does Afrika Bambaataa approve?
Afrika Bambaataa would approve. Kung Fu Theater on WPIX-11 and the constant stream of martial arts films playing on NYC's 42nd Street played a crucial role in the development of hip-hop culture, particularly hip-hop dance styles. On the D****n D*****y commentary for 36th CHAMBER OF SHAOLIN, the RZA points out specific moves performed by Gordon Liu in that film that found their way into Kid 'N Play's dance routines. Also, it's not a one way street. For example: MISMATCHED COUPLES.
This might have been an inappropriately respectful reply to a less-than-sincere, somewhat loaded question... but I'll give the benefit of the doubt for the time being.
Of course he would. Bam has always stressed the multicultural aspects of hip hop culture, and rightly so. Just me being silly, that's all.
