Dear Black Dynamite fans:
I can tell by watching the activity on the Internet that people around the world are eager to see Black Dynamite.
It is our fans who have helped us get the word out thus far, and we greatly appreciate the love and support they have shown us.
As I am sure you know, an early cut of the movie has leaked on the Internet, and seems to be quite popular. Last I checked, the comments on Twitter and Facebook have been only positive. I love that the buzz on the web is so good, and that we have so many new fans. But I would like to stress that the version of the film online is NOT the final cut.
The
final cut of Black Dynamite, which is currently in theaters, is the
way director Scott Sanders and I envisioned the movie. It is the film we
are proud of, and the one we want to share with audiences worldwide.
Believe
me, if you or people you know like the rough cut of Black Dynamite you
saw online, you will love the final cut of the film that
is in theaters now.
If you love the version you saw online, then support the film and buy a t-shirt (http://www.blackdynamitemovie.com/store-main).
My sincere thanks.
Best regards,
Michael Jai White (Black Dynamite)

If its in your area definitly go and catch this film. It is in my top 5 films I've seen this year, and its definitly the funniest movie I've seen all year as well.
P.S. the shirts are dope, I own 2, go and grab one asap!
For sure. By far the funniest film I've seen all year. Go see it!!
Mr Black Dynamite:
I would love to watch the movie in theaters, but i live in Mexico. If you're people ever manage to sell the movie in this piece of land, forgotten by god and time, i would make sure to drag every single human being i know to watch it. Maybe in some local film festival over here.
I thought BLACK DYNAMITE was ok. Not as "true" to the genre as I'd thought it was going to be. It was like THE LOST SKELETON OF CADAVERA, but for the (ill-named) "blaxploitation" genre.
A couple of scenes were pure gold though, admittedly.
I got to attend one of the two midnight shows in the 15th largest metro area in the US (IOW a crummy release schedule). The theater had 4-5 dozen people, mostly in their 20s and 30s. There were 2 DJs spinning period funk and soul tracks before the movie started.
Once the movie started I couldn't stop laughing; nor could most of the audience. There were a few lines I missed due to the laughter. I was not sure how much of the humor would go beyond people who haven't experienced a lot of the material this film references, but if total laughs count, this could easily get a bigger release and still bring in the audience.
The end credits were very nice too and I thought were a nice touch for the film. Some of the promo materials (FSitO, BD meets Barry, and Anaconda Malt Liquor ads) were not in the movie, but several of the other bits definitely were. Sony should realize a good marketing campaign by what appear to be the movie's creative team can't hold a candle to the millions of dollars Sony spends on any movie starring SL Jackson. I hope the are pulling a "Paranormal Activity" in hopes of a wider release later. The movie is timeless. Fingers crossed.
