If you are old enough to remember the golden age of the made for TV horror film then the title Don't Be Afraid of the Dark brings a serious shiver of delight. Well the good folks at Warner Archive have finally made this gem available. Follow the link and they will burn you your own personal copy. No extras but I can tell you that this thing looks and sounds terrific. The story concerns a high strung housewife who moves into a new house with her career driven hubby. After having a fireplace un-bricked she unwittingly releases a number of squat demonic creatures who make it their mission to drive her mad and adopt her into their unholy family. The creature deign here was something that had kids all over America talking for days and despite the films unavailability it has continued to be a much sought after cult favorite.

Such a great little production. SciFi/SyFy Channel should use this and some of the BBC productions like the stone tape or woman in black as blueprints to properly do quality, low budget work.
