Uwe's Going Home For MAX SCHMELING

Say what you will about the good Doctor Boll - and I'm sure many people will say what they will about him - I feel quite confident saying that there are two things that he knows pretty damn well.  One is German.  Because he is. The other is boxing. Because - as he demonstrated with his public challenge a few years back - he's actually pretty damn good at that.  So what happens when Dr. Boll decides to return home to Germany to shoot a serious minded boxing bio-pic about Max Schmeling?  The answer?  Something that actually looks pretty damn good.  And I don't mean good in a bad-but-entertaining sort of way.  No, I mean this actually looks pretty compelling in a way that I'd be curious about it no matter who was directing.  Granted, my German doesn't go much farther than swearing at you - and you're all pigdogs, that's what I say - so I don't know that I can fairly judge the performances but Henry Maske looks pretty solid in the lead role, both as an actor and a fighter.  Who knew?

How many films does this man have on his plate?
From the fights in the trailer it looks like they doing some full contact fighting.

Actually we really can't judge Boll's boxing skills, considering he carefully choosed his opponents, people with no fighting background/training at all. Any film critic that actually had training in some form of combat was rejected by Boll.

The Dialogs spoken/acted/performed here by Henry Maske are horribly laughable.
The Make Up though let him really look like Max Schmeling.

Go Uwe!

& Cutterman - thanks for your indepth, professional analysis...! Nice to know we had a consummate acting / dialect professional around to dish out the criticism...good to know you're not just another ass from the internet spouting an opinion.

Well dear agent666,
I'm not here to bash Uwe Boll. The Day will come, he'll produce real cinema. It may take another 200 movies. But personally I think he's on the right way.
As I said, Henry Maske looks incredible good as Max Schmeling.
But everything he says make you (me) laugh. I can tell you 'cause I'm German.

I dont know, Maske does LOOK good but i´m not convinced of his acting abilities. The trailer looks like ROCKY in Nazi Germany. Nothing special about it. Could be a straight to TV biopic. It will still make some money here in Germany, i predict. And then Boll is going to do more of the same.. god help us all!

Still i´ve got some respect for the guy. Although he hasnt made anything that i would pay for, he knows how to play the system, or outside the system. You have to give him credit for that.
