Ok, so I'm a bit late to the party on this one, but just as I pop my True Blood cherry (on Channel 4 now, after a successful run on FX), they go and release the season 1 box set on DVD and Blu-ray in high-def glory! I'm yet to be particularly warmed by the show's charms but I'm assured it's a slow burner that rewards the committed viewer, so we'll see. Written by Alan Ball of American Beauty fame and winning a Golden Globe in its first season, it's another high profile HBO export with a rapidly growing fan base.
It's out to buy on UK R2 DVD and Blu-ray from 26th October and you can check out the trailer below.

"Ok, so I'm a bit late to the party on this one"
The keg floated by 9 PM. You weren't missing much.
I jumped into this show late too (last month), and I love it. This show is surprisingly good. I don't think that Twilight did it any favors.
I am very impressed with the way it's adapted from the books. I wish all adaptations could be that good. It's not totally accurate, but it adds interesting characters and expands on the ones we read about. I'm thoroughly impressed.
