With Halloween right around the corner is it any great surprise that a new theatrical trailer for The Wolfman has just appeared? While the first trailer played things for the purists, showcasing the links back to the old Universal Horror classic style, this one is playing straight for the core, teenaged audience that Universal obviously wants to have fill the seats. If nothing else, the radically different music and editing style between this trailer and the first makes that point blatantly clear. But you know what? It still looks damn good. Yes, please.

The music is goddamn awful in that spot. I guess I should be thankful that this trailer doesn't do it by the numbers with tribal drums, and the build up with bows raking across strings into silence, finishing with a jump scare that everyone knows is coming.
Still, lots of good money shots. Rick Baker is the man.
The first trailer is absolutely classy. This one, while not half-bad, is too MTV. And what the hell is Gollum doing here? Looking for his precious?
