Terracotta Distribution acquires UK rights for BREATHLESS

by James Dennis, October 5, 2009 8:59 AM

Yang Ik-june's multi-award winning directorial debut Breathless (Ddongpari) has been picked up for release in the UK by Terracotta Distribution, with a date currently set for sometime in January 2010. If you can't wait that long, this much praised chronicle of domestic violence in South Korea will screen at the London Korean Film Festival (running 5th-12th November), with the man himself in attendance, alongside Kim Ki-duk's Dream and Park Chan-Wook's Thirst.

A relative newcomer, Terracotta Distribution is rapidly emerging as one of the top purveyors of Far Eastern Cinema in the UK, so it's great to see them pick up a film being tipped as return to form for South Korean cinema. As you'll see from the links below, it's very much a Twitch favourite...

Very good news. UK and Canada has the US beat on this front.

American distributors are absolutely pathetic on this front. Shamefully, embarrassingly pathetic. If Britain and the UK can't beat our half-assed efforts, they ought to be mortified.
