Yeah, yeah ... remake bad, original good and all that. But you know what? Having been wildly underwhelmed by George Romero's Survival of the Dead I've got to say that I'd much rather drop down coin to see Breck Eisner's remake of The Crazies than ever sit through Survival again. I'd given not a thought to this one, really, and had zero expectations for it but you know? I actually really like this trailer. If this is what Eisner's delivering, I'll be there.

Looks interesting. Reminds me a bit about Crossed, though with a lot less gore.
Looks like a strangely good remake. I want it now.
Huge points lost for using that version of Mad World from the penultimate shot of Donnie Darko..
Remake bad! Original good! HULK SMASHES PUNNY DIRECTORS!
We had discussed this a lot, remakes are not bad per se, pointless, stupid awful remakes? Now those are awful, and they are the rule, not the exception.
Not seen the original, this looks interesting. I like Timothy Olyphant too.
That was my only negative on it, too, Kurt. I think Darko pretty much owns that song for film now. Not literally, of course, but it's used so effectively and memorably there that all others should just leave it alone ...
As sick as I am of "Zombie " movies, it's good to see an interesting take on the subject, albeit, a remake! Zombies + Social desintergration =The Crazies.
Romero is well past his sell by date for me, only the reimagining of the classic zombie into todays, rampant rabid crazy in 28 days/weeks later perked my interest, along with Rec of course!
As for the Mad World usage, it actually works very well with the subject matter, I know its etched in our pop cultural conscience with Donnie Darko, but I forgive them , because it works so well.
Looks really, really good. DO WANT.
completely unexpectedly, this looks like a really good film. always felt Romero's original was a good idea but lacked the appropriate energy for it. looking forward to seeing it now.
the use of Mad World in the trailer is pretty inapropriate though. not that I care about it stepping on Donnie Darko's toes though - never really cared for the film. just seems wrong musically.
but US trailers have a history of using music from other films, so it may not even be used in the feature. it's a good song but.
