Dammit, it seems I had my hopes up too soon.
Two weeks ago we reported good news for people with a region-B locked BluRay player (meaning you most likely live in Europe or Australia): in December, Madman Entertainment would release a BluRay of Hayao Miyazaki's newest film "Ponyo on the Cliff", according to their own website.
But yesterday Madman posted the following message:
"Please note that due to circumstances beyond our control the PONYO BLU-RAY scheduled for December 29th is canceled.
Furthermore, the PONYO DVD is now a single-disc DVD product and remains scheduled for release December 29th.
We thank you for your ongoing custom and apologise for any inconvenience these changes cause."
Aw shucks! Not even postponed, but cancelled! Must have been quite some circumstance.
Ah well... now we will have to wait for either Disney or Optimum to offer European release dates.
