Maybe I just have X Files on the brain but the whole paranormal investigator thing just seems to have taken over fantastic television. Could Fox and Scully really have been that influential? The truth is XF wasn't the first show of its kind, just the best. Minus the liberal doses of paranoia The Eleventh Hour seems somewhat watered down even if Rufus Sewell does make an awfully winning mad scientist. Is it because all of the episodes I watched offered mysteries ended with a scientifically somewhat plausible explanation? To be sure that made me feel a bit cheated. One does wonder what this could have grown into had it not been cancelled. You get all 18 episodes on 6 discs and surprisingly no extras. This is also definitely worth seeing for anyone who is interested in British Tv as it is based on Stephen Gallaghers like-titled mini-series that starred Patrick Stewart in the government scientist role
