If there was any doubt that the BBC was hoping to hit a younger demographic with the casting of Matt Smith as the new Doctor Who those doubts disappeared this morning. The official Doctor Who website premiered a new logo for the iconic series this morning, one that will debut with Smith's first effort. And while I've got nothing in particular against it, the design aesthetic just screams out "Love me, all you fourteen year olds out there! Love me!" Here's hoping they don't lose the older fans in the process ...

Hmmm, I'm not seeing how this design references the 14 year old demographic. If anything it's a nice modern nod to the Tardus while working in the DW as a new logo. I'm almost 40 and I think it rather cool.
No, no, no, no, and most definitely NO. FAIL.
Stop pandering to tween fans of Twilight, BBC. I enjoyed David Tennant's run as much as the next guy but this is really pushing it.
