Lars Von Trier's Antichrist is a hot ticket at this year's TIFF. It's been pretty well covered by the Twitch team so I don't have much more to say except that at
tonight's Ryerson screening a dude a few seats down from me threw up on the
people in front of him. Now there's an in-cinema experience you can't have at home!

haha unbelievable. I'm certainly glad I wasn't sitting in front of that guy. Quite a film, I can understand why it could be vomit inducing.
If the marketing people have any brains they must put that on the poster: The film that made a grown man puke on the people around him! Ha haha...
"Antichrist is the ball-crushing-est, vagina-cuttingest, most vomit-inducing satirical art movie you'll see this year!"
If I saw that on the poster, I'd be sold.
At what part?
Can sympathise with that guy as Von Trier's movies often make me want to vomit too.
"Infants falling off the window, bloody handjobs, severed vaginas, and projectile vomit. Not your average Friday at the movies."
Something like that?

Heard this movie is crap. But I love being shocked so I'll probably give her a shot.
Hey, is this movie gonna get wide release in the US, or do I have to hike it up to NYC to some indie theatre to watch it?!
I seriously doubt you'll see this as a wide release. I expect it would be released Unrated at best and only so many theatres will carry an unrated movie in the US.
So yeah your best bet would probably be an art-house theatre in the nearest big city.
The film itself is interesting. It's very well done and effective but it's also not necessarily a full experience. Though I suppose that depends on how easily you come to accept the religious/supernatural elements of the film that really only show until the last 1/3rd.
I look forward to seeing it again though to try to cement a proper opinion on it and certain elements of it. And it's not that it doesn't make sense, it's just with a guy like Von Trier, you try to guess or decipher his intent below what's projected in front of you. Still the more I think about it the more I like it.
I seem to remember people vomiting at screenings of The Wild Bunch back in 1969... I wonder what will have people chucking up in the aisles in 40 years time. Hmmm.
