I don't see any mention of any creature in the AICN article. It's more like a Universal Soldier kinda scenario.
It talks about a "half-human" "beast" in the synopsis once you scroll past Harry's ramblings.
Rambo has always been ridiculous and since he has pretty much killed every stereotyped soldier in the world this could be a natural progression. In Rambo VI he could be fighting leprechauns in space.
