October seems to be quite the interesting month in Korean theaters, what with the return of Jang Jin with his "presidential black comedy" 굿모닝 프레지던트 (Good Morning President), Hur Jin-Ho's China-Korea co-production 호우시절 (The Season of Good Rain), and the theater run of MBC's masterful documentary 북극의 눈물 (Tears in the Arctic). But a couple of pretty intriguing smaller films will release as well, including French-Korean director Ounie Lecomte's 여행자 (A Brand New Life) - which is co-produced by Lee Chang-Dong, and features cameos by Seol Kyung-Gu and 괴물 (The Host)'s Go Ah-Sung - and certainly Park Chan-Ok's 파주 (Paju).
We showed you the teaser a few days ago, which only suggested the mood of the film - the story of a young woman falling for her late sister's husband. The trailer released today gives a much better idea of what we're going to get, which is metric tons of angst and good acting by leads Seo Woo and Lee Seon-Gyun, along with director Park's predictably frank portrayal of relationships. Release is set for October 29.
