How's this for knowing that you can rely on your co-star? This past weekend Tropical Storm Ketsana tore through the Philippines, at one point stranding popular actress - and leading lady of Yam Laranas' upcoming Patient X - Christine Reyes, along with her mother, on the roof of their house. With water levels rising, creating the very real possibility that they would be swept away, the actress called up television network ABS-CBN to beg for help. And who answered? Patient X co-star Richard Gutierrez, who borrowed a military speedboat to rescue the family.
This is all real. And, ironically, the sort of thing we'd probably just roll our eyes at if they put it in a movie.

That is indeed a cool story, and the gutter-press will have a fieldday with this. Once they got their presses back out of the gutter, of course.
Best wishes to everyone caught in the many storms and earthquakes in South-East Asia and Oceania this week.
It's like Satan took a huge dump in the ocean over here. They're still digging people out of rubble in Indonesia. At least the Samoans are pretty much out of immediate danger right now. Pretty much all happened in the same 1-2 days. Crap.
Damn ... I've been pretty much buried in fest stuff for the past week and am just really getting caught up on the news in the real world now. This stuff has been brutal ...
