You might not know who Scott Pagano is, but no worries. That's exactly what this post is for.
The last few months I've been doing my best to promote the "film" Umfeld as much as possible. Front man for Umfeld is Jochem Paap (better known as Speedy J - legendary techno producer) who was responsible for the film, but the man behind the visual side of the project is Scott Pagano.
Now Umfeld is not really "film" film and many will not even consider it a true film. It's been called a music vid many times but since the images are in their turn influenced by the audio I think this eliminates it from music vid territory. Others believe it belongs in museums, but in the end it's best to judge for yourselves.
So why this post? Well, Mr Pagano has a very cool website showcasing most of his work. So for all of you interested, you can check out what this man has been up to besides Umfeld and get a taste of some really beautiful but very abstract short films and music vids. Not your average Twitch news maybe, but I'm sure there must be an audience here, if not where else.

Pagano's work - in Umfeld or elsewhere - is truly something to see. Franky I'm surprised and baffled no one has yet to approach the man in doing something like the opening titles for a TV show. Maybe they have and he has declined. I'd understand, but damn it'd be great exposure.
Well, you know what they say. Directors are alway scared the opening titles turn out to be the best part of the film/show (most recent example, Final Destination 4).
And of course his work is pretty abstract. It's probably a blessing that Pagano isn't jumping on any commercial boat right now.
Ohohoo, well yes that is quite a danger. Seems as if he's been able to balance a personal and commercial output as he did do the boards and marquee style stuff for the last Oscar broadcast.
