The story of CARGO takes place on rusty space-freighter KASSANDRA on its way to Station 42. The young medic LAURA is the only one awake on board while the rest of the crew lies frozen in hibernation sleep. In 4 months will Laura's shift be over.During her daily patrols, through the eerily empty ship, LAURA begins to get the feeling that she is not alone on-board. A discovery mission in the dark and ice-cold cargo hold ends in catastrophe. The remainder of the crew is awakened. A cat and mouse game begins in which nothing is what it seems. What lies hidden in the strange freight containers and who, or what, is also on-board?
To say that the good lads over at Quiet Earth have been eagerly anticipating Ivan Engler's Swiss scifi feature Cargo is, to put it mildly, a bit of an understatement. They've been drooling over this one for a while, based on an early peek at some footage, and now with the first public trailer - English subtitled, no less - we can see what the hype was all about. Now, I feel this one is neither as original nor quite as high end as they seem to think but it is undoubtedly a remarkably self assured bit of work that knows exactly what it wants to accomplish. There are a few moments where the budget peeks through, but on the whole this looks quite solid and should add to the recent canon of meant-for-grownups science fiction.
Check the trailer below the break!

Looks very polished, looking forward to it.
Is there a space cargo ship in films in which nothing goes wrong? You would think insurance rates would skyrocket (ha) after the nth time a crew is slaughtered by some unknown being.
That said, sign me up. Looks slick.
Looking forward to seeing this !!
