Like the creatures that are their subjects, zombie movies just refuse to die with - by my count - four significant new entries in the sub-genre coming out this year. And the one I want to see the most is Spanish offering [REC]2. The sequel to the huge hit that spawned Quarantine as its US remake, [REC]2 picks up exactly where the first left off and looks to be upping the action ante considerably. It's funny you bring this up. I watched the first one a LONG time ago but watched it again this weekend! It's a great flick! Highly recommended!

I thought [REC] was very very good. I'm nervous about this one turning into nothing more than a blood bath. That's not interesting.

Yes, 1st one was great. I, too, am concerned that this one might degenerate into little more than a bloodbath. 1st one had characters you cared about and a frightening sense of encountering the unknown.
I spy crosses... perhaps the possession angle still plays a role? or the character is mistakenly using the cross and meets a quick demise. I'll be stoked to see this franchise utilize an evil dead possession angle over viral transmission/transformation.
