Director Jim Mickle won a lot of fans in these parts with his indie horror feature Mulberry Street - a claustrophobic little film that featured the residents of a New York apartment building being attacked by infectious vermin and transforming in to a sort of were-rat - and there has been much speculation about what Mickle and co would do next. There's been talk of a Joe Lonsdale adaptation but the one that's actually moving along is Stake Land, a new feature being produced by Larry Fessenden's Glass Eye Pix.
Currently in production, the only real notes out there on Stake Land are based on what appears to be an out-of-date interview with Mickle, in which he says a lot of things that are at odds with what has turned up in the just released teaser. But here's what we know. It's a vampire picture and post-apocalyptic, occurring after a vampire epidemic has swept across the continent. And there's no romance in these vamps, no comedy either. He's playing this one straight, looking to do to the vampire mythos what he did with the zombie film in Mulberry. and that can only be a good thing.

i'm not a big horror fan and not really a vampire digger, but that looks fresh and great.
I loved Mulberry St., amazing production value for an indie. This looks promising.
