[Updated with the teaser now embedded below the break along with three freshly released clips.]
Are Paco Plaza and Jaume Balaguero mirroring the transition from Alien to Aliens with changes made to their upcoming [REC]2? From the looks of the new trailer I'd say - Glory Be! - yes! The first Alien - and the first [REC] - were, of course, highly effective experiments in claustrophobic, tightly controlled terror. Aliens? All the elements of the first film were still in full effect but this time re-imagined as a no holds barred action picture. [REC]2? Lets just say the camera perspective this time comes from helmet mounted cams worn by the soldiers sent in to clean out the apartment building after the events of the first film and the military aint exactly slow to pull the trigger.
The new teaser is embedded below the break along with three freshly released clips.

I don't know. Looks slick. I like the prospects of first person cinema where there's no escape from the terror forcing the viewer to identify with the victim...But with all the guns and action... I feel like I'm watching someone else play Left 4 Dead and I'd rather play it than watch. These soldiers better be damn interesting with solid dialouge to keep from being a non-interactive video game.
I guess I just decided to skip the closing night Fantastic Fest party this year, in order to get to Sitges in time to see the world premiere of this!
they did the same thing with 28 weeks later after 28 days. pretty awesome results there. don't imagine this is gonna be too big of a letdown.
This just got me all high strung and anxious again like watching the first one. Regardless of the obvious FPS video game comparisons, it still looks amazing and terror-filled. Like a giant eclair stuffed with guts.
I'd like to take a bite of this giant eclair.
I can't wait till the american re-make.....
...it's the same movie but with a "bad-ass nu-metal sountrack"
.....Rock On!
.......but seriously, that trailer does need a little guitar.
OMFG...what an AWESOME trailer. I'd sell my left nut sack to see the movie now.
Oh...I love this. I was really worried about how they were going to approach this sequel - especially how they were planning to present it (More *found* footage, or a more traditional third-person style - I have the same concern for Cloverfield 2). However this approach is excellent. Can't wait for them to get up to the penthouse and discover what happened to the reporter...
Sweet - this looks like it might be good!
looks great, lets hope us in the USA don't have to wait F'n FOREVER for a release....that remake crap didn't count.
haha i spit on that quarantine shit
awesome trailer/teaser
gone the way of aliens for the sequel...good idea
the original was easily one of the best horrors I've seen in a long while and its great to see the Alien/Aliens vibe running through this sequel.. fuck the dopey ass merican remake, the spanish original is 10times the movie
