The rumblings that Darren Aronofsky's reboot of Robocop were being pushed back have been circulating for a little while now and it looks as though that is now official with word that Aronofsky's next will be Black Swan, a haunted ballerina story that was originally meant to be made back in 2007. Now, anything new from Aronofsky is a good thing in my books so I'm certainly not about to complain - particularly not considering that he's got Natalie Portman in the lead - but if this means that his spin on Robocop is getting the axe I'm going to be unhappy as this'll make three consecutive high profile projects that I thought he was perfect for (Batman: Year One and Watchmen being the others) that he'll have been bounced from.

ChevalierAguila: I'll buy that for a dollar!
I was a little surprised and disappointed by this news. Any Aronofsky film is near a top priority for me but this is kind of a weird subject to tackle. Portman is okay, but not what most fanboys make her out to be IMO.

Yeah well people said pretty much the same thing about Rourke and we all saw what Aronofsky was able to do there. If he is the director behind the helm, I am willing to take the ride.
