And Tonight The Worldwide Short Film Festival Gets Freaky ...

by Todd Brown, June 20, 2009 10:51 PM

My very sincere thanks to those of you who turned up last night for the first of two midnight programs that I've programmed for this year's Worldwide Short Film Festival. The response was more than gratifying and I trust that you all enjoyed yourselves. At the very least I have received no threatening phone calls demanding that ticket money be returned, so I take that as a good sign. Good enough that tonight we do it again!

Last night was the Creepy program of horror-themed shorts and tonight we move along to Freaky. This is where things just plain get weird. We've got The Snake Mountain Colada - the sequel to Calvin Lee Reeder's The Rambler - we've got Kierkegaard reading hitchhiking vampires, we've got a no-fi effects wizard from Winnepeg, and - of course - the proverbial so much more. Oh ... and Git Gob? The film from which the magnificent image to the left is taken? Sheer genius, one of my official Best Things Ever, and something that makes me laugh so hard I cry every time I see it. I'm on to viewing twenty or so now.

No online ticket sales for same-day screenings but tickets will be available at the door!
