Marko Zaror To Face Off With Scott Adkins In UNDISPUTED 3!

by Todd Brown, May 4, 2009 10:06 PM

I first heard rumblings of this last week but, at the time, needed to wait for i's to be dotted and t's to be crossed before things became official which apparently has just happened. ScottAdkinsFanz is confirming that Chilean martial artist Marko Zaror (Kiltro, Mirage Man, Mandrill) has signed on to co-star with Scott Adkins in the upcoming Undisputed 3. According to Zaror, he will be the villain of the piece, which is due to start shooting in the middle of this month. I guess this means I need to look up the first two Undisputed films ...

For those unfamiliar with Zaror his latest training video is embedded below the break.

YES!! This will be a tremendous opportunity for both Scott and Marko. Marko is a very strong fighter and very athletic also. He can perform "air" moves and is very fast with his hands. Very worthy opponent for the incredible Scott Adkins.

That is some serious casting news. Lateef Crowder is another great addition to the line-up of martial artist. Hes the capoeira fighter in Tom Yum Goong and he will appear in the Tekken movie.

I concur with dac1138's comment. Undisputed 2 is a straight up martial arts film while the first part with Westley Snipes is more of a drama. The fight choreography in Undisputed 2 is one of the best I seen in an American production that rivals some of the action greats in Hong Kong. Scott had to bulk up for the role and its really impressive for a guy his sizes to pull off some of the dynamic moves.

I've only seen him in KILTRO & although I think the movie is awful, Marko's presence and skill kept me well entertained. More power to him. I'm eager to see someone fill in the void that Jackie Chan and Jet Li left in action cinema.

Kiltro has some big problems - they were learning as they went - but Mirage Man is MUCH better. Big time crowd pleaser, that film.

Aye Mirage Man is far better as a film than Kiltro and a far, far better martial arts film. One day maybe it'll get it's promised US release.

Wow, this is going to have some serious teeth! You get two guys like that with a skill set like they have together then you have some serious fireworks! looking forward to seeing this.

Agreed with dac1138. When Issac Florentine was handed the first sequel he took it in a very different direction from the original film, away from the boxing drama and towards a straight martial arts movie. That's his specialty. The film to watch to get an idea of what to expect is definitely UNDISPUTED 2 and nothing Marko Zaror has done previously. Florentine is one of the best action directors in the West. I'm very interested to see what he can do with Zaror.

The first film is a favorite of mine - very underrated, classic Walter Hill. Great cast, great acting from Snipes and Peter Falk. The second film was a surprise, in that it was a cut above typical DTV sequel fare - you could do much worse with your rental dollars. Will definitely keep an eye on this one...
