Razorback? Piffle. Nothing but the runt of the litter. When it comes to giant pig movies there aren't any bigger - or angrier, or hungrier - than upcoming Korean effort Chaw. We've been tracking this one for a good long time now and with a summer release looming the first teaser has finally arrived.
One day in a small and peaceful village Sameri, boasting no criminal cases for 10 years, a terrible accident happens. Ecologists studying wild animals on a nearby mountain, discover a collection of dismembered body parts. Policeman KIM Kang-su just transferred to Sameri from Seoul takes the case. The victim turns out a grand-daughter of Chun il-man, who was once a legendary hunter. Chun is convinced that it wasn't a human that murdered his granddaughter but a man-eating boar, Chaw. Terrified, the people of Sameri invite one of the most famous hunters Baek to catch the Chaw. Baek leaps at the chance hoping it will prove himself to be the best ever hunter. Baek, Chun, detective Sim in charge of ,ecologist Soo-ryun and KIM Kang-soo (whose mother is also missing) head into the deep dark mountains to confront the beast.
Don't expect the deep character relationships of The Host in this one, the producers here seem to be very aware that they are making a cult film here and they're having a good time with it. Check the teaser below the break. And someone pass the bacon. I'm hungry.

At least we know the sources for the Swine Flu...
Hmmm. With this and Pig Hunt coming out there seems to be no shortage of killer pig films.
genius - you wait 25years for another giant hog movie after Razorback, then two come along at once. Bloody typical. Having said that, the two movies are so stylistically different (and so far, Pig Hunt looks the more trashy fun - Chaw seems to be taking itself more seriously).
damn, this looks crappy.....
Massacre the pigs on the way
Paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaass.
There's also "Hogzilla" coming out too!!
hmmm... where is princess mononoke???
Or Harry Potter should've visit this HOG-WARTS...

Pig Hunt seems like waaaaaay more fun compared to this, I have no doubt in my mind based on the trailer and prior reports that film is something special. Watching the trailer for CHAW makes me feel like I
Would you want to see something new in this area or just more of the same old cliche monster movie crap?
