Get Your First Look At SCOTT PILGRIM Now!

Though we haven't commented on it much so far, director Edgar Wright has been merrily blogging away throughout his stay here in Toronto, posting a photo a day pretty much throughout the entire pre-production process of his adaptation of the popular Scott Pilgrim graphic novels. I've made a point of checking in on Wright's blog on a regular basis but so far it's been a lot of hints and teases and green screens and the like and very little of what I'd consider actual news. But not any more. Principal photography on the film started this week and Wright has continued his photo-blogging ways which means - presto! - our first real look at what the film is going to look like. I'd say it's written primarily for college age or late high school kids. If you know Toronto you can tell that it's a kind of nostalgic look at the city and the scene ten years ago ...

I would say it's written for people 20+. It's full of references to things that haven't been a large part of gaming culture for over a decade or more.

I'd say the audience is people Scott's age (24) and people who remember being that age and how much dumber they were then.

I appreciate the comments. I did like the first volume. I'll give the others a try. Do you think the movie will try to capture the same syle of the book or go a more straight realistic aproach? How will he handle the fight scenes?

I enjoyed reading the first volume - I knew pretty much nothing about it except Edgar Wright was making the movie. I can certainly see what would have drawn Edgar to the project and can see him making a cool movie out of it.
