Some very intriguing news here for fans of Run Lola Run star Franka Potente. Carnaby International - the same outfit who are backing Jake West's Doghouse - have just announced Julian Gilbey's upcoming thriller The Long Weekend with Potente in the lead. And the concept behind this, frankly, is pretty stellar ... well, the concepts are. Why plural? Because the synopsis on the official website and the synopsis included in the concept reel that Carnaby has released are wildly different with one (the one listed on the site) revolving around an accidental death and the panicked suriviors rushing to kill the only witness (Potente) while the other revolves around some weekend hikers who discover a young girl - the daughter of a notorious crime lord - buried alive in an underground bunker after being kidnapped. I'd prefer door number two, I think, and it looks as though that's the way they're going ...

And here I was hoping it's a remake of the stellar 78 aussie flick by the same name, with one of my favorite taglines... "Their crime was against nature... Nature found them GUILTY"
Both concepts may be true if the girl dies after having been unearthed by the hikers, and they start to realize the crimelord might be holding them accountable for her death and maybe even her kidnap.
Their frantic struggle to secure their survival may be synopsis number 1...
