Behind the Scenes Video for BLOOD: THE LAST VAMPIRE

by Al Young, April 29, 2009 1:50 AM

A behind the scenes video is online via Trailer Addict. The video features Jeon Ji Hyun (Gianna Jun) talking about her character and her training, footages of her fight rehearsal with the supervision of action director Corey Yuen and on the set fight scenes. Yep, its no walk in a park when your taking on the role of a kick ass vampire hunter.

On the surface, Saya is a stunning 16-year old, but that youthful exterior hides the tormented soul of a 400 year-old halfling. Born to a human father and a vampire mother, she has for centuries been a loner obsessed with using her samurai skills to rid the world of vampires, all the while knowing that she herself can survive only on blood like those she hunts.

When she is sent onto an American military base in Tokyo by the clandestine organization she works for, Saya immediately senses that this may be her opportunity to finally destroy Onigen, the evil patriarch of all vampires. Using her superhuman strength and her sword, she begins to rid the base of its evil infestation in a series of spectacular and elaborate showdowns. However, it is not until she forms her first human friendship in centuries with the young daughter of the bases general that Saya learns her greatest power over Onigen may well be her ability for human connection.

Unfortunately, there is still no word yet on a North American release date. You'll find the behind the scenes video after the jump.

Wow, after watching this clip, I would wanna give this movie a try. I didnt really like the trailers, but this really showed how much hard work Gianna Jun put into this film..Ill def give it a try when it comes out.

The fact that it's got an 18 rating over here bodes well for this one on the blood-letting front. Pity it still looks pretty lame.

Looks like they are using high (and low) speed framerates to cover the slow and cumbersome wirework with an actress not used to fighting on screen. We'll see how this one turns out. Not hoping for much.

It's been a while since I saw the original anime, but from what I can remember the trailers look and feel nothing like it. The wire work looks particularly disappointing. I don't have high hopes for this one.

Of course, I can appreciate the hard work the actors/actresses put into such a film.
