The Terracotta Far East Film Festival kicks off at the legendary Prince Charles Cinema on the 21st May – once a grindhouse venue, it’s now the only independent cinema in the West End. Launched by the Terracotta Entertainment Group (the people responsible for bringing Hansel & Gretal to UK DVD amongst others), the festival will showcase 13 contemporary films from the Far East. Amongst this year’s highlights will be police thriller Eye For An Eye, Oxide Pang Chun’s The Detective and Johnnie To’s Sparrow. It’s a great chance to catch some otherwise overlooked gems on the big screen in an iconic setting.
